Pierre de Villiers

Photographer, Surfer, artist, jewellery designer, Pierre de Villiers loves to be in the sea before the sunrise breaks the horizon. He is always eager to capture the first rays of the day and the unique movements and moments of light on the ocean as the day awakens. Pierre is a 48 year old who has found his niche challenging raw ocean and his own crazy energy level to freeze milliseconds of time in transient art. For Pierre this art adventure is physical, intellectual, spiritual, romantic, expressive, communicative and emotional. To get his sunrise shots he must plan his attack well in the days before. He is solid in his understanding of what the tide, wind, wave period and size will have on his various locations. Hidden nooks & crannies and well kept secrets that have been the subject of Pierre’s love affair with photography and the ocean for a decade. Being able to share these special moments of solitude, joy and wonder from an ever-changing canvas keep Pierre inspired.

Fine Art Prints
Our fine art prints are printed on a 285-gram Lustre (semi-gloss) paper by TECCO, a high quality fine art paper producing pin sharp detail, suitable for colour and black and white photographic reproductions and meet Archival standards.
2-3 day production time.
Framed Prints
Our custom 23mm wide wood frames are finished in either black, white or natural wood. Sizes shown are the print size and images are mounted with between a 40mm – 60mm white art board depending on the size of the print. For delivery and courier purposes we use clear acrylic with glass available on frames collected from our studio in Durban. Alternate framing is available on request.
10-12 day production time.
Premium Stretched Canvas
Our canvases are printed on a premium 380-gram Exhibition Matt Canvas by INNOVA. This heavyweight canvas is Archival Certified and finished off with a matt varnish to seal the surface and extend the UV resistance. Images are printed with a gallery wrap and stretched over 35mm high Obeche frames.
5-7 day production time.
Wood Framed Canvas
Our new slimline wood framed canvases are handcrafted, individually made and fitted to a premium stretched canvas. The wood has been carefully selected for its grain and color. This simple but beautiful wooden frame is a great way to elevate your artwork on any wall! Sizes shown are the canvas size with the frame adding roughly 35mm in total. Also available in black, white and ebony on request.
8-10 day production time.
